First Lines Fridays

Welcome to my “First Lines Fridays” this is a weekly meme, that I first saw on First Lines Friday – 1st February 2018 — Mani’s Book Corner and which is originally hosted by Wondering Words.

Rules:

  1. Choose a book from your shelves/current read
  2. Open the book to the first page
  3. Copy the first line on the page, making sure you don’t give away the book title
  4. Reveal the book.

FIRST LINES

It was an October wedding. The bride was a witch who solved preternatural crimes. The groom raised the dead and slew vampires for a living. It sounded like a Halloween joke, but it wasn’t.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE WHICH BOOK THESE LINES COME FROM?

THE BOOK IS….

INCUBUS DREAMS

Incubus Dreams

(Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #12)

by

Laurell K. Hamilton (Goodreads Author)
In the latest New York Times bestselling Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series, Anita’s life is more complicated than ever, as she is caught between her obligations to the living and the undead. A vampire serial killer who preys on strippers is on the loose. Called in to consult on the case, Anita fears her judgment may be clouded by a conflict of interest. For she is, after all, the consort of Jean-Claude, the ever-intoxicating Master Vampire of the City. Surrounded by suspicion, overwhelmed by her attempts to control the primal lusts that continue to wrack her, Anita does something unprecedented: she calls for help.
